1.1 General information only – not clinical advice
This website is written in good faith and is intended only to provide general information about dental and medical possibilities. It is not a diagnosis, prescription or treatment plan and it is not a substitute for a full, face-to-face examination and discussion with a suitably qualified, UK-registered dental or medical professional.
You must not make decisions to act or not act solely on the basis of anything you have read on this website, without first seeking appropriate professional advice. If you choose to rely on any information from this site without obtaining your own professional advice, you do so at your own risk.
Nothing on this website creates a dentist–patient, doctor–patient or any other clinical or professional relationship. Any clinical relationship only arises when you are formally accepted as a patient and seen in person (or via an agreed clinical tele-consultation) under our separate practice terms and conditions.
1.2 Reliance on information & limitation of liability
We take reasonable care to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up-to-date, but we do not promise that it will always be complete, accurate or suitable for every individual situation. Medical and dental knowledge, guidance and law change over time.
This website and all information on it are provided on an “as is” basis, without any warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express or implied (including, but not limited to, implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement).
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.
Subject to that, we will not be liable for any loss or damage (whether direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential) arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, this website or any information on it, including loss of profits, business, data or reputation.
1.3 Your responsibilities and indemnity
You are responsible for ensuring that any information you take from this website is checked independently with appropriate professional advice before you rely on it or share it with others.
You must not present any content from this website in a misleading way or out of context, and you must not use it for unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent or otherwise harmful purposes.
Subject to the limitation of liability above, you agree to indemnify and hold Kilcoyne harmless from any claims, losses, costs or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of this website or from your breach of these Terms of Use, or from presenting our information in a misleading way or out of context.

The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement of the linked site or any products or services offered there. You use any such third-party sites at your own risk and should review their terms and privacy policies.
You may link to our homepage in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not create a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists.

1.7 Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms of Use, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, although we retain the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence or any other relevant country.

United Kingdom
2.2 Laws that apply
We process personal data in accordance with:
- the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), and
- the Data Protection Act 2018.
2.3 What information we collect
Depending on how you use our website, we may collect:
- Information you provide directly – for example, when you complete a contact form, request information, subscribe to updates, or correspond with us by email or phone.
- Technical and usage data – such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed and links clicked. This is usually collected via cookies and similar technologies (see the Cookie Policy below).
- Communication records – if you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence for legitimate business and governance purposes.
If you become a patient of the practice, we will also collect clinical information to provide you with dental care. This is covered in more detail in our Practice Privacy Notice.
2.4 How we use your information
We may use your personal data to:
- respond to your enquiries and provide information you request;
- provide you with information about our services that we believe may be relevant to you, where we are allowed to do so (for example, based on legitimate interests or where you have given consent);
- maintain and improve this website and keep it secure;
- monitor usage of the site (in anonymised or aggregated form where possible);
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations; and
- defend or exercise our legal rights where necessary.
We will only process your personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so, such as: legitimate interests, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation or your consent (where required).
2.5 Where we store your data and international transfers
We aim to store and process your personal data within the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA). If we ever need to transfer data outside the UK (and/or EEA), we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK data protection law (for example adequacy regulations or approved standard contractual clauses).
2.6 How we keep your data secure
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, accidental loss, destruction or damage. These measures include secure servers, access controls and encryption for payment or sensitive data where applicable.
No system can be completely secure, and the transmission of information via the internet is not entirely risk-free. Any transmission is at your own risk, but once we have received your information we use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
2.7 How long we keep your data
We will keep your personal data only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including any legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting requirements.
Clinical records are generally kept in line with professional guidance (for example, usually at least 10 years after last activity for adults, or until at least age 25 for records created in childhood). Other website-related data (like contact form enquiries) is normally kept for a shorter period, unless needed for legal or governance reasons.
2.8 Sharing your information
We may share your personal data with:
- our staff and contractors who need it in order to carry out their duties;
- trusted service providers who support our IT, hosting, email, or other systems, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-processing agreements;
- other healthcare providers or third parties where this is necessary for your care or where you ask us to do so; and
- regulators, law enforcement or other authorities where required by law or where we need to protect our rights, our patients or others.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
2.9 Your data protection rights
Under UK data protection law, you have rights in relation to your personal data, including (in most cases):
- the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- the right to request erasure of your data in certain circumstances;
- the right to request restriction of processing in certain circumstances;
- the right to object to certain types of processing (for example, direct marketing);
- the right to request transfer of your data to another provider (data portability); and
- where we rely on consent, the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
In most cases, we will not charge a fee for dealing with your request. We may charge a reasonable fee, or refuse to act, only if a request is manifestly unfounded, excessive or repetitive, or if you request additional copies of information we have already provided, in line with UK GDPR.
We will usually respond to a valid request within one month, or within any extended period allowed by law if the request is particularly complex.
