Why we are worth the journey

Many of our patients travel from Bradford, Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield, Manchester, Lancashire and further afield. They come because they want:

  • Specialist-level planning for implants, crowns, bridges, dentures and complex bite cases.
  • High-end cosmetic results – natural, balanced smiles, not “over-done” dentistry.
  • A long-established private practice with 35+ years of advanced experience and a track record of handling challenging cases.
  • A clinician with a special interest in FastBraces* and orthodontic improvements where suitable.
  • Consistency – the same experienced Specialist overseeing the planning of your case from start to finish.

The planning of treatment options is just as important as the quality of the treatment itself. Wherever you are travelling from, we aim to get both right, first time where possible.

Frequently asked questions – visiting us

FAQs about finding and visiting the SmileSpecialist® Centre

Many people come to us from across Yorkshire, Lancashire and beyond because they want specialist-level planning and predictable results for complex or cosmetic cases – especially where implants, crowns, bridges, dentures and bite problems all interact.

Others are seeking a second opinion, or they have been advised that their situation is “too difficult” elsewhere. Having all options clearly explained by an experienced Specialist can be worth the journey in itself.

Yes. The SmileSpecialist® Centre is a fully private dental practice. That means there are no external system restrictions on the time, materials or treatment combinations we can offer you.

Our focus is on what is clinically appropriate, realistic and best for you in the long term, within your budget and priorities – rather than what a scheme or contract might dictate.

We are very happy to see patients by self-referral as well as by referral from dentists, hygienists, therapists and other healthcare professionals.

If you already have a regular dentist, we encourage open communication and can work with them to plan and coordinate your care where appropriate.

Many people who say “I hate dentists” really mean they are anxious and have had bad experiences in the past. We understand this.

Your first visit is usually about listening, examining gently and explaining options – not doing lots of treatment immediately. When planning is done well, appointments can often be grouped and sequenced so that each journey is productive but manageable.

It is helpful if you can bring:

  • Any recent dental X-rays or reports (if available).
  • A list of your current medications and relevant medical history.
  • A note of your main concerns, goals and priorities for your teeth and smile.

We will then examine you, discuss options and explain likely timescales and costs so that you can make informed decisions before committing to treatment.

Our focus is on advanced and specialist-level dentistry, but that often includes providing the foundations such as stabilisation, prevention, repair and maintenance.

In many cases, the best long-term result comes from combining advanced options (such as implants, complex bridgework or FastBraces*) with simpler measures, all under one coherent plan.

Haworth is a popular village with several public parking options and on-street parking areas. When you book, we can advise you on the most suitable places to park for your appointment time.

Allow a little extra time on your first visit so that you can find the practice calmly and arrive relaxed.

Final thoughts

Wishing you good dental health AND a smile to be proud of, from all at the SmileSpecialist® Team.

As always, prevention is cheaper and better than cure – and that includes preventing poor choices based on cost alone.

If you are considering major dental work, getting a specialist opinion before making big decisions can be one of the best investments you make.
